The Myth Is Real
The whispers started last year about a 13 Fishing rod series in development that would deliver elite-level performance at a mid-range price point. Speculation grew. Then, 13 Fishing put the rumours to bed with the release of the Myth Series Tournament Fishing Rods — a comprehensive lineup of premium rods embodying the perfect balance of precision, power, finesse and strength.
MYTH MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION
State-of-the-art Japanese PVG40T blanks and Zonal Action Technology give Myth Series rods their dynamic tapers and superior performance. From executing the proverbial country-mile cast to offering elevated sensitivity for staying in contact with the bait and detecting the lightest strike, and the responsiveness to swiftly transfer power during a quality hook-set — Myth rods give anglers the edge that leads to legendary moments on the water.
The use of premium Portuguese 4A cork as well as premium Japanese EVA spit grip handles highlights the Myth Series’ blending of innovation and rod-building tradition. This aesthetic is also seen on the full-grip, cork-dominant handle with EVA accents of 2-piece spinning models exclusive to Canada.
Furthering the Myth’s modern yet classically refined stylings is a semi-sanded blank. This is about more than just looks, though. The design reduces weight and causes the blank to have more strength in the tip section than rods constructed with heavy epoxy applications.
Further enhancing the Myth Series rod’s featherweight feel and impressive performance are Fuji Stainless Steel K Frame Guides with Alconite inserts. 13 Fishing’s Evolve Custom Reel Seat with Soft Touch Finish serves to enhance a Myth rod’s balance, feel in the hand ergonomics and all-day comfort. Every rod is also outfitted with a Evolve Snaggle Tooth Hook Keeper.
Myth Series rods are available for both casting and spinning applications, with 1- and 2-piece models for the Canadian market.

CASTING RODS
Canadian Myth Series casting rods consist of eight models, ranging in length from 6’8” to 7’3”. Powers are either medium or medium-heavy, and offer an action from moderately fast to extra fast. Line ratings span 10 to 20 pounds, and lure ratings are between 1/4- to 1 ounce, depending upon the specific rod.
Myth casting rods are ideal for fishing popular techniques for largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, pike and other popular sport fish. The seven models excel at catching fish with swimbaits, topwaters, vibrating jigs, spinnerbaits, Texas-rigged plastics, Tokyo rigs, flukes, football jigs, Neko rigging, wacky rigging and more.

SPINNING RODS
The Myth Series spinning rods are available in seven models in the Canadian market. Rods range in length from 6’10” to 7’4”, span power rating from medium-light to medium and have a fast action. Line ratings are 4 to 12 pounds, and lure ratings from 1/8 to 5/8 ounces, depending upon the specific rod.
Myth spinning models are made for cutting-edge finesse techniques to traditional, spinning-rod presentations and everything in between. This includes tactics such as: Ned rigging, moping, shaking a minnow, pitching Jigging Raps, swimming a curl tail grub, finesse swimbait tactics, wacky rigging stick-baits, live-bait rigging, ripping bucktail jigs, jigging blade baits and spoons, and working various topwaters, crankbaits and jerkbaits.

THE LEGEND HAS ARRIVED
With the release of the Myth Series Tournament Fishing Rods, 13 Fishing has created another legend on the water. Anglers being able to get their hands on such an outstanding rod for $239.99 Canadian may seem like the type of fiction reserved for a fishing fairy tale when, in fact, the Myth is very much a reality that’s waiting to help you make legendary moments on the water.
